AC-23,
Welcome to our world. Jackstraw's question is a good one. A custom CQC-7 (meaning one that is handmade by Ernie) and a production CQC-7 (meaning one made by Ernie's knife shop) are two different knives.
If you own a production Emerson Knives CQC-7 then congratulations!
You are the proud owner of the world's most popular tactical folding knife design built by one of the best manufacturers in the business.
If you own a custom CQC-7 then get down with your bad self!
You are the full-on stoked owner of one of the most highly sought after tactical folding knives in the world hand built by a legendary knife maker.
...Wanna sell it?
...Just kidding. Custom Emerson's are pricey and if you own a custom CQC-7 then you know just what I am talking about. The CQC-7 followed the CQC-6 in the Emerson lineage. The CQC-6 was Emerson's breakthrough tactical knife. It qiuckly became a benchmark for the custom and production tactical folding knife industry. The CQC-6 is still only available as a custom knife. The going rate for a CQC-6 depends on a number of factors. Les Robertson's site has one currently listed at $1300. Check it out at the URL below. http://www.robertsoncustomcutlery.com/emertac.htm
