I have not been a member all that long, but long enough, I think.

Has anyone else noticed the rash of 0/0/0 feedback accounts popping up, only days old, making low-ball offers in the threads instead of via PM?

Maybe it is just me, but I find it very rude and unprofessional.

Again, I am just curious.

Most new accounts don't have PM privileges, and most sellers don't include other contact info. They're using the option they have available... and, realistically, doing what they see in other ads. I recognize those things to be true; but I still consider the practice to be in poor taste.

That is a fair point. I've just noticed way more often than when I first joined. Thanks for the response!

Yes, it does seem that there is more traffic on the sales threads. I guess it doesn't bother most sellers because it seems the unneeded comments don't get reported by the seller. If some of these newcomers would read a little bit, they'd learn that they can post a profile post instead of cluttering up a sales thread.
I've seen threads with several posts and the knife still not sold. The number of posts in a sales thread always gets my curiosity up and I want to see what's going on even though I have no desire to buy.

The mods are doing a good job of deleting those posts quickly, morons will post “I’ll buy it for X”, Which is usually some comically low number.

I report those right away, if someone makes a low ball “offer” via PM I usually just ignore them.

Some people seem to think that the Exchange exists to “give someone a GREAAAT DEAL”; no it doesn’t, it’s a place of commerce that you have to pay the owner of to benefit from, kinda like renting a table at a gun show.
