I think I am turning into a Koa junky. I get this wood from a family run mill on the big island. They cut a lot of old growth Koa and set aside some of the best figured pieces for me. Every time they call and say they have set aside some good pieces for me I never ask any questions. I just say "I'll take them". Their son who does all the grunt work likes knives so he has asked to see photos when some of you guys finish your knives using this wood. The first 5 blocks will have some sapwood for a cool contrast in colors and killer figuring. The others are a darker red/orange with extra good figuring. These all look better in real life.
US shipping is $2.50 for 1 block, free if you get 2 or more. International Shipping is $12 for up to 4 blocks.
If you want your blocks stabilized I can send them in with my next batch to K&G. Cost for stabilizing is $8 per block. Turnaround time is usually 3 to 4 weeks. If you want a block cut into scales there is no charge. Just mention in your post if you want your blocks cut into scales or stabilized.
