Current OEM Manufacturers?

Thanks for the info gentlemen.
It appears that there is no spreadsheet anywhere that matches up manufacturers and knife trade names.
I had forgotten about Utica. The remainder of the US manufacturers I was aware of.
I think I will start my own spreadsheet and just add to it as I learn more here.
Question - which manufacturers are remaining in Sheffield and Solingen (or maybe I should just ask about Germany and the British Isles as a whole)? Solingen - Boker, A. Wright & Sons - Sheffield, who else?

I personally do not confine myself to the narrow field of current factories which manufacture knives. There are stunning examples to be had from extinct companies, and there are shockingly beautiful knives being sold by custom and semi-custom makers. For some reason there seems to be a really prejudiced view in the threads here that I read, in which folk are really narrow in their view that the only knives of interest are being made 'right now.' Odd. Of course not everyone fits that mold. Just my opinion.

The descriptors now online and in other advertising is very misleading. It used to be a company claiming to be made in _______ country was actually manufactured there. Now companies that are foreign made in foreign manufacturing plants but have a business based in the USA can claim to be made in USA. I think that is wrong in so many ways. It’s getting that way in everything even our food suppliers. I’ve tried searching for USA made traditional knives and everything comes up and their sites are deceptive in their words used to avoid revealing their country of manufacture. I don’t know if there’s any push by any groups to get this mess straightened out but there should be. I got very discouraged when I went searching for traditional knives made in USA.

As a matter of fact I ordered an OTB34 Schrade that was supposed to be the old Schrade pre 2004 made in USA with 440c steel after doing a search. It turned out to be a currently produced knife made elsewhere for the company that bought the Schrade name having 9cr18mov blades. I was really bent out of shape on that one. Never trust an online dealer bragging on made in USA. They don’t care if it isn’t they just want your money.

Push by groups to strai....??hell we cant even get a 2020 perch knife knife going...so what chance has anything like that got?...nevertheless very succintly put Lesknife Lesknife
Cheers.

Solingen: Boker, Hartkopf, Hubertus/Ritter, Klaas, Olbertz. I think.
What about Otter? Or are they a subsidiary of one of the names you mentioned?

Also, if you are compiling a list of industrial-scale traditional pocket knife manufacturers outside of Asia, don’t forget about France, Spain, and Italy.

I forgot to include Otter, I believe they are OEM and not owned by someone else, but I may be wrong.

Olbertz makes knives under a number of names. The most familiar would probably be Eye Brand.

In my opinion the current manufacturers don't offer a lot of interesting knives for someone who likes traditional knives. I much prefer knives from the old makers. Queen, Schrade, Camillus, Henckels, all of the English, German, Italian brands, there are so many. If gun shows survive the current situation go and find yourself a dealer with a table full of old knives. These days they're selling at bargain prices, even for gems.
