Hey Guys....

The cut outs give a more forward "hang " and tends to improve the chopping qualities of a blade...It costs a little more (more burn time at the laser joint) but it does NOT weaken the blade and I like the balance better......Next production run of the CAMPANIONs will have the cut outs added as well as the headache maker - hammer on this point at the butt...

just got my KaBar full tang no cut out BK2 Campanion. Sweet.

interestingly, the KaBar/Model stamp is soft looking, not as deep or as sharp as i recall on the BK9 Combat Bowie, or BK3 TacTul... mmm. could be just too much coating.

no matter, i like it. very nice work by KaBar

.....making it almost a Crewman, though a bit thicker and with a different tip design. Bwa ha ha!!!!! It's what I've been waiting for! I'm so glad I didn't buy one of the first generation Campanions, not that it's a bad knife, but I've been wanting a Ka-Bar made Crewman, so one of these second generation Campanions will be much more like the knife I wanted. I do greatly enjoy my Ka-Bar made BK-9, but I want something shorter for hiking. Thank you, Ethan, for these changes to the Campanion (or could I call it a "Crewmanion" ?). I'm getting one as soon as they are available.
