I have a day off! :D

They tried to call me in, but I said no... I'm busy working on this for one of our forum friends instead. It's one of the JoeP knives, with a twist. ;) :D

Hope I'm not sticking my foot in my mouth......Is that a piece of Damascus for the guard? Along with the darkened maple(?) burl (other foot in mouth?:p). What ever the materials, it's going to be gorgeous! Thanks for the preview Nick. Looking forward to a few progress photos if you can swing it. So glad you said "no" today - a treat for us. Mike
 
Mike- Nailed it! :) Neither the customer nor myself typically like dyed anything. In fact, I think his words were something like, "usually makes me want to puke." But I got this piece at BLADE 2014, and it just seemed like the perfect fit.

And twisted Ws too...

I am excited to see the materials all come together. :)


 
I already have a favorite but I'll be keeping an eye on this unique version.

Thanks Nick. I'd rather not chew on shoe leather more often than I have to.:) I'm sure it is going to look very nice. It takes the dark Micarta look (which I like quite a lot) and embellishes it a bit. Pretty excited to see how it comes out. Mike
