These will be accompanying me on my spring and summer backpacks this year:

Dan Koster Bushcraft in natural micarta, weighs in at 4.5 ounces

GL Drew belt axe, green micarta, weighing in at a svelte 14.5 ounces.

With sheaths both weigh just over 1.5 lbs.

Think that will cover most my cutting/chopping tasks on these trips.

Mapper,

Doesn't look like you could go wrong with that set-up! Just curious, do you carry a SAK or a multi-tool too?

 that is a great looking combo.. i love those little GL DREW axes.... the kosters are perfect woods knives... you're set for just about anything...

i was also wondering if you add a SAK or multi-tool in there too...:D

Nice setup man  I still need to get one of those pocket axes to go with my Drew knife, that would make a great pair too.

Looks good.

Your axe is a spitting image of mine. Do you love it? I think mine is awesome. I have yet to pick a Koster but one day I will.

Thanks guys, I love the Drew ax. Very handy. Not going to fell a tree with it, but that's not what it's for.

Sometimes I carry a SAK or my Charge.

Yeah what is it with us in here, wanting our cutlery to match?! I can never think my wife is overdoing it matching shoes and purses again! :D lol

:D My wife yells at me at least twice a week about dressing our daughter in non-matching stuff... I've got the fashion sense of a brick, I've found it's just safest to keep colors simple :). She says if she ever gets me out of browns and greens hell will freeze over. :p

Excellent Combo set-up....I have a Koster Bushcraft on order,I went Green Micarta and the Koster Survivor Green micarta as well.......I know it is a sickness !...Cool looking axe, TTD,

That GL Drew belt axe is frickin' awesome!

It's the perfect opportunity to get in touch with your woman.
"Why do you need ANOTHER knife?"
"Honey, I needed something to match this outfit."
