I'm not in the market today, but if I look at an awesome knife long enough I can talk myself into it eventually. My favorite design is the White River M1 but how much better to support a custom knife maker. Is there a maker here with a similar design to the M1 and in magnacut that I can oogle over until I am ready to buy one? I like the deep finger choil and the smaller drop point blade.

You can look around here, some of the guys that make knives, here on the board, not all.

There's also the for sale by subforum(s), you can look at.

Also none of the makers can message you due to the fact you don’t have a basic or higher membership. It’s well worth the money.

Another thing is the White River M1 is around $150. Most makers can’t and won’t sell a custom knife that cheap.

Why not just get a Magnacut M1?

Edit: Yeah, it's a production knife. Even though I prefer handmade blades myself, I have no problem supporting White River. John and Susan are good people, and not faceless corporate executives. I don't have a lot to spend on knives, but I own 5 WR blades, and I bought them all directly from John, at a twice-yearly gun/knife show in my town, over the last 5 years. And, while I'm not really supposed to talk about it, I'm currently beta testing a potential new model, along the same lines as the M1.

He said he wants to support a custom maker.
Of course! But he also wants an M1. If he's a certifiable knife nut, he's gonna get an M1 anyway. I was just suggesting he get the M1 first. Then, he'd know what, if anything, he might change to make a perfect custom build.

That makes good sense.

For three inch blades I love my Ultralight Neckers in 3/32” MagnaCut at 62 HRC.

Here’s one that’s almost done to give some idea:
