Thanks for posting these for me Ron. Like I said, I used to have much better pics of the knives, but when my computer crashed last time I lost them.

The olive drab handled knife is called the "Survival Guide" and was a design I came up with out of my diseased imagination. Dave Beck's talent and craftsmanship brought it to life.

Jared,
I really like that knife, and the sawteeth look like there really fuctionable.

I really like some of Mr Becks knives.Just curious but does he ever post on BF?I cant recall seein him around?

He used to post here on occasion, but I haven't seen him around in a while. I think he's just too busy. His screen name is DRBeckKnives I think.

Jared,

Does your "Survival Guide" knife have a Scandi-grind (a-la Woodlore knife)? I don't seem to identify a secondary bevel on it from the pictures posted.

If so, do you sharpen it on waterstones just like a Woodlore?

Thanks,

George

The Survival Guide does have a secondary bevel, it just didn't come out in the pictures. My Beck Woodlore also has a secondary bevel. I just use Crock Sticks to sharpen them.

Thanks Jared!

The Survival Guide was something that I designed and the only one that will ever be made is the one Dave made for me. It's pretty cool, it has my initials stamped on the blade and everything. Same thing with my Woodlore knife. No more will ever be made.

I'm glad everyone is saying nice things about them. I really wish I could use them more but commitments to work, family and friends keeps me in the house or in the city more than in the woods.

A quick search on the forum should turn up Dave's info.

HI Jared! I think I remember a picture of your WSK with a cordura/ kydex sheath, I'm now the proud owner of a WSK and I would like to find a similar sheath, do you have any idea where to find one? thanks!

Hey Oliver,

I sent my WSK off to Scott Hendryx in Boise, Idaho to get that Kydex sheath.

I don't have his address any more, but he usually has a small ad in "Tactical Knives" magazine and a search here on the forums might uncover his address. I think he charged $50.00. Great sheath too. Hendryx has like 20 years experience working for Uncle Mike's holster company.

Take care,
Jared

do you have a photo of the sheath id like to see it i to have a beck w.s.k

I am lucky I got in on the Beck WSK when I did. Mine preforms every function I ask of it. It has a little wear and tear from usage but still a beauty to say the least. Dave is a good knifemaker and I hope he is still out there making blades for us knife nuts :D

I'd like kydex as well but the leather sheath Dave made is awsome in its own right. Very pleased with my Beck set up.

Hey,

anyone knows what happend to Beckknives..The page is out of order, and has been for some time now..

I made an order for a Survival knive 3 month ago, and now the page is gone..

??

I've been following this - and similar - threads on bladeforums for some time and am on Dave Beck's wait list for a new WSK Companion combo. I also own one of his custom knives and really enjoy seeing photographs of Beck's fine workmanship wherever possible. I've asked Myakka to post photos of my own Beck custom here.

Thanks, Ron.

Mableleaf just emailed me a photo of his new Custom Beck knife and asked me to post the picture.

Great looking knife Maple Leaf, very nice find. This is what Mr Beck wrote about this knife;

The knife in question was made by me about two years ago for a friend who had apparently resold it. It is a one of a kind piece I had designed for him & the #1 on the right side of the knife is in fact the serial number. The handle was fabricated from linear Micarta & fastened with loveless bolts. This knife was not forged but stock ground & differentially hardened & tempered. The sheath pictured was also fabricated by myself from heavy English bridle leather.
I am happy to hear how you like the knife. It is a really nice knife & one I would have liked to keep myself & should be a good collectors item as it was the only one ever produced.
- Dave Beck

ge. It has a fully tapered tang. The tang reads BECK on left side; right side has a serial number - 1. the handle is made from nearly indestructible yellow linen Micarta, contoured to provide a positive fit and feel for the average hand. The handles are secured with epoxy and permanently bolted using stainless steel Loveless bolts and brass nuts.

Ok gents, for some time now I've been trying to accquire a Beck WSK. Unfortunately his website is disabled. Someone here has to have some info on how to contact him so I can get one of these knives. Or, if one of you has one you'll part with, I've got trades and cash. Either way, some help me out here.

please send info/offers to dmdoyle2002@yahoo.com, and/or david.doyle.ctr@mda.mil
