Hey Ben, glad you posted your axe here. I'm a fan of through the haft hawks. Just happen to have three sawmill blades and plan on making up some hawks. Hope you hang around.

I have made a few crude axes like that and the handle seems to split where the rivets are.

It is waxed nylon thread, the kind used for sewing leather.
