Good stuff and nice collection, good pictures too!

Thanks, Bear'!

I forgot to add that there is a Scott Gossman KEPHART in my future - something less that half the wait being over already:D and a Charles May "Bladie-Mae" shortly after that. Bryan may be sending me a couple more of his blades soon as well.

For those who have NOT had the pleasure of dealing with the afformentioned knifemakers, I am not putting price tags on these but, if you like something that interests you - contact the maker because you will likely be surprised. All of these knives were incredible bargains - VERY affordable and the lead times were measured in weeks - the longest being twelve such units of measure but most less than eight and some around four and two.

I am not made of money myself (although not immune to the same devaluation:o) so, don't assume that when I say "bargain" that is all that relative. You are going to get an incredible "bang for your buck" when working with these folks and they're all on the "up 'n up." "Money" aside, I have been incredibly happy with every one of these knives and I am very, very picky. They all make sheaths that are entirely compatible with the quality of their knives and I have made friends as a bonus.

OK, I'll just hop down off my soap box now....:o

nice thread! I am really enjoying these knives :) I have a Farmer myself and its really a great user for sure. Nice, light, handy and SHARP!!!

I had Matt make it to my specs, although i wish the blade was a little thinner. My old red wood handled Mora is still my go to because of this. Weight as a neck knife and I prefer to wield a thinner blade primarily. Here are the specs on this knife...

ChrstianNobleCustomhandled.jpg

- 4.125" 1095 blade for ease of sharpening and making fire.
- squared spine and no gaurd for striking with rock or using metal match (see links).

- handle is tapered front and back to prevent slippage.
- handle is also rounded for prolonged use and made of hickory for durability.

I've always very much liked that knife, Quiet Bear. I'd love to have matt make me one of those someday. Is it sized for largeish hands?

the handle is 4.125", but where it shines is being rounded and tapered at the front and back which is safer for a no gaurd knife. very comfortable for extended use for i would say most hand sizes. squared and/or thin handles can lead to hot spots and fatique quicker in my opinion, especially if you are using a lot of force too. Matt is great. thanks!

Whoa. What a cooooool thread. There is a lot of talent on this board. I'm glad you guys include my work with some of these makers. What an honor.
