stealth CAK; vinegar then FeCl etch with mineral oil and satin finish Cocobolo wood and the spine has been rounded. I took this to walk the dogs last night and it almost absorbs light and certainly doesn't reflect much.
Great job OS, if I remember right, you bought that CAK from the same batch as mine. Must have been hard work getting rid of those black forging marks.
Bill, it's not just you. I'm not sure exactly why, but these CAKs had a fairly different blade profile from my regular AK. Not that it's a bad thing, just strange.
7rip13a, forging marks are still there plus more epoxy then I'd care to admit from the handle. Mechanic friend of mine let me borrow his sandblasting booth for 15 minutes to clean up some other stuff.
The edge angle on this CAK is way more obtuse than the one on my 20" AK. So much so that I have a hard time getting the blade to "stick" when I want to park it in a stump while I take a rest.
