Custom contact wheel

Hello knifemakers, a while back, I picked up a beautiful 11" X 2" steel wheel from Surplus Center. I would like to put a rubber face on it and use it for a contact wheel. Does anyone know what the best rubber to use is? And what would be the best adhesive to use? Thanks, Twig
