Custom file work...before or after flat grind?

I want to start doing some file work on the top of my knife blanks. Should I wait till the flat grind is completed or can I do it right away?

Finish the blade all that you are going to (before HT) and then do the file work.

I do my file work before grinding and heat treat. I then clean up the file work with diamond files after grinding and heat treat.

Any filework that i've done has only been around the tang but I always waited and did it last right before HT.
