I have a thought to do some file work in the shape of a wave but I am having some difficulty figuring out the curl at the top of each wave. I am having problems with the concave portion as well as the pointed end. These drawings are just some designs I was working on but I like the look of the staggered waves much more than the mirrored at the top. If anyone has any suggestions on technique or a specific file/riffler that would work I would appreciate it. My thought is to use red epoxy for the handle and have it fill the waves to make crimson waves, Roll Tide! Thanks http://imgur.com/a/hfwJV

Dremel/fordom with carbide bits, lots of patience, and a bit of luck... I don't see how you could do it with files.

Well, I can't see an easy way to do it either. I know there are diamond coated riffler files that have a curve that might get in there. I was also looking at electrochemical etching that is used to add a makers mark. I have never used one and so I don't know how deep it can go., Maybe to start a pattern and finish with a riffler? I would like to know what was used to do these patterns. https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?act=url&depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&sp=nmt4&tl=en&u=http://www.knifehelp.net/pages/process-izgotovlenija/filework.php&usg=ALkJrhjvDoi4DAgcv2ULC6L75_6liUNw9w
Maybe dremel? If so, it's something to aspire to. Thanks for the response

I think your best bet would be a vinyl transfer sticker and ferric chloride etching.
