Custom filework on BM42

I just did a little bit of filework on my "chinese sidewinder" and I even managed to get it semi sharp. Lots of fun and since this thing isn't of much value anyway no harm coulda been done.

Chuck: I can't wait to see what you get, I have a feeling it'll be a beauty.

Ixpfah: I think it's generally considered not smart to talk about who's going to be getting what when and esp. mentioning numbers, seeing as D is located outside of the US of A.

I just broke out my grandfathers old grind wheel and managed to get a pretty good edge on a chisel without too much work. As soon as I get enough practice I'm going to do the swedge on my 42. First, I'll practice on my old Bear that had the handles break off. Hopefully all will turn out to be purty!

the work I've done so far is fairly minor and might not show up in a pic (<=read as no digital photography skills) I'll try later though.

Okay for some reason my comp doesn't detect my digi cam so until I figure that out no pics. But I did a little more work with the chainsaw file and it looks pretty damn good. While I was taking pics of the Chinese sidewinder yesterday I realized that the latch was hideous so I broke out the hacksaw and cut it off. As a result I had to have a new way to tell the safe handle from the bite handle some some file work came into play. Oh yeah and today I achieved the miracle of all miracles...I got it sharp like razor sharp. Damn I'm good.;)

Wow, getting a Chineese sharp... And RAZOR sharp too!
You should start up a knife sharpening business. ;)
