Custom folding knife in the $500-$600 range?

Suggestion: check Chris Booysen's website. He is a South African Guild member who makes superb custom folders (award winning) in your price range!

PeterR, Dalibor, Brian Fellhoelter, Brad Southard, Gareth Bull. That's my short list, and not necessarily in that order.

Keep looking at the custom folders by makers on here.
And keep an eye out in the Custom Knives sold by individuals forum(most are new).
Very nice John W Smith F4 flipper in there right now.

Let's see. I was in your boat yesterday but I bought a Peter Marzitelli. There's: Will Zermeno, Brian Tighe, Allen Elishewitz, Darrel Ralph, $nody, Lightfoot, Laconico, Mikkel Willumsen, Peter Rassenti. These are just a few I looked at. There are so many! Basically what I did is cruise the custom knife sites and look for an idea of what I want. I ended up falling in love with something I wouldn't have been looking for otherwise. If you don't see something you like you will at least get to see knives from many makers, in many styles.

Ray Laconico makes some real nice stuff.

They come up on the exchange here every now and then too.

They go quick though. Last one sold in 4 mins. (lol)

I am probably missing a few but this is what I could think of off the top of my head. All of these guys do amazing work and should have models in you price range. Some have some crazy wait times but a few fall in that 4-6 month range.

Find a Custom Knife Show, the makers are there and you can feel and handle their work. Dont know where your located but the California Custom Knife Show will be in Anaheim next month - its the best custom knife show that i know of and i highly recommend it.
And if you decide to go semi-custom, Chris Reeve, Mick Strider and the like will all be there with knives to sell.

I have 3 customs in my collection is all. Reese Weiland, Alan Folts and a manual action Dalton. Weiland and Folts were right around 400 to 500 but the Dalton was only 250. Which is an absolutely ridiculous deal considering the quality of the work and the materials used. Google any of those guys names. For Dalton just google Dalton Combat. Not to mention his wait was less than 2 months
