Custom Hand Forged Knives

I have become interested in hand forged knives. While there are a lot of makers that are doing amazing work grinding out their designs, I think there is something really cool about a knife that has been pounded out by hand on an anvil.

Personally, I like what I have seen from Dark Timber and Lon Humphrey. However, most of these guys are not doing hi-volume production and are not that well known. So, who is your favorite blade-smith that is hand forging knives?

I tend to support local blacksmiths as far as possible. In South Africa there are a few that also belong to the American Bladesmith Society. Kevin Harvey, Stuart Smith to name but two.

Slightly off topic, I purchased a great knife from HardEdgeKnives from that foum and was amazed at the high quality / low price.
