So I've been tooling around with the idea of making a hawk for a while and I finally got motivated enough to give it a shot. This one is still in pretty rough form but it is fitted up and everything fits nice and neatly. Without even realizing I was doing so I ended up doing something similar to the CS trench hawk. I probably handled one at one time at that is what I saw in my mind when designing it. Since I don't have forging capabilities yet, I was limited to what I could do with bar stock and my grinder. Mine will have a collar around the handle towards the head which I would imagine adds some strength to the hawk in that area. The collar also adds some weight, which can be either a good/bad thing depending on your likes. The brass collar/handle pins will also be peened which should also help in the sturdiness department. Still needs a lot of clean up but I'm kinda liking it so far. Thanks for looking.

Steel: 1095 1/4" thick
Handle: Mahagony
Collar: Mild Steel
Pins: Brass
