I got this one special from the late Dick Singer. I hate to part with it, but no choice:
15.5" OAL 33 oz. Himalayan Imports "Munk Chunk" Cleaver by Royal Kami Bura. Design was modified from the original AK Bowie to give a perfectly straight flat edge, even behind the cho/kauri cutout.
Buffalo horn chiruwa style full-tang handle. Spine is 7/16" wide with zero distal taper. This is one massive 2 lb. chunk of steel. Perfectly executed by HI's best kami. Double-fullered blade is dead straight and razor sharp and will sail through just about anything on your cutting board.
Comes with an 8" OAL 7.2 oz. HI JKM-1 in horn. Sharp and careful job by Kumar. Entire rig encased in custom sheath made by Dwayne at Armorall leather. Beautiful work, approx. 13/16" for the majority of the sheath, and 1 15/16" thick where the JKM rides over the cleaver. I also have the original HI black buffalo hide covered wood scabbard.
Cleaver was used once to effortlessly chop up some ribs, and cleaned immediately afterwards. It has never been sharpened nor the sheath carried.
