C10PGY-LE Custom Michael Janich modified FFG Endura - $350
BNIB
Modified by the man himself, with his logo laser etched on the blade. I feel like this belongs here because it's based on a production Spyderco. Not sure how many of these were made, but the other ones I've seen were the saber ground version. This is BNIB with MJ's signature on the box, and includes the baggie and standard Endura Edge-U-Cation pamphlet. The blade spine has been taken down and radiused (on the taken down portion), and the jimping removed. I think he has also lapped the action. Centering favors the presentation side. Only taken out of the box for pictures, and never used to cut anything. Not a lot out there to compare these too, but I priced this at a level that I won't feel bad letting it go. I really don't want to sell, so I won't mind if I'm forced to keep it
.
C186TI Slysz Bowie - $250
LNIB
A phenomenal example of the Slysz Bowie. Love this design but it doesn't get enough pocket time to justify keeping. Centering is dead on. Lock-up is perfect (IMO) with nearly full lock-bar engagement. Locks up perfectly solid, but somehow unlock is as effortless as though there was no contact at all, so no sticking whatsoever. There is what appears to be a slight snail-trail on presentation side just in front of lockbar cutout, but I actually think it's just a quirk of the stonewashing (pictured, so you be the judge). I've replaced the clip with a Foundry clip I etched, which fixes the pocket grabbing lockbar relief cut, and I actually think the finish matches better than the stock clip. The stock clip is included as well. Carried a handful of times, and used to open mail and other such minor tasks. Edge is factory.
C151GTI Tuff - $OLD
No box
Bought this Tuff used, and carried it a bit. Feels great in hand, it's just to big and heavy for my purposes, but this is a phenomenal example from Taichung. Deploy is so smooth I can spydieflick it out, and lock up is solid and has a great sound. Blade is centered. Small ding in the TI handle, but otherwise handle looks great. Blade has some wear, tip is a bit rounded, and there is an oddly sharpened area towards the heel. You can see these in the pics. This is how it came to me, I only have the sharpmaker and I'm no sharpening guru (to my chagrin:thumbdn
, so I wasn't really able to fix it. If you have a WE or EP I'm sure you could turn this into an absolute beauty.
