New 2014 Custom Joe Verdugo Signature Anza "Recure Skinner" Bastard File Knife. This Signature Custom Anza Knife is handcrafted solely by Joe Verdugo from a Tempered 14" Nicholson "Bastard" File. The knife has 3/16" thick Full Tang Construction for durability and strength. Captivating "Bastard" File Teeth are left on non critical areas of the 4" Modified Semi Skinner Recurve Blade, giving it serious character. Jimping embellishes the blade spine. The rugged polished handle is Black Linen Micarta with Brass Pins. This is a Handmade Custom Joe Verdugo Signature Anza Knife with clean lines and a bold appearance. But please don't fool yourself, the blade is made of High Carbon File Tool Steel and holds a unbelievable edge, giving it cutting power as a Hard Use knife. It's overall length is 8 1/8" and the knife comes with a Black Genuine Leather Sheath, both are 100% Made in the USA.

Quick questions, is the design by Joe Verdugo and Anza did the knife? And Nicholson files are usually w2 steel?

Joe is one of Anza's knife makers and he crafted this particular knife himself for Anza as a signature blade.

From what I am told concerning steel is the files are made of a proprietary steel of Nicholson.
