Up for grabs is this custom mounted forged katana by Daryl Kyle. He specializes in Highlander movie and TV functional prop replicas and his work is very solid. This design is an original of his and was made for me as the result of a trade.
It's what I believe to be a Ronin Dojo Pro blade and saya. The handle is made out of molded resin and a carbon fiber and Kevlar weave, then aged. It's epoxied to the nakago so it's not able to be taken down for cleaning. The tsuba is also an original of his and is a solid bronze sand cast piece.
Overall this sword is very well balanced and is very solid. It's not without it's faults however.
The deeper than usual sori on this particular blade caused the final mount to be slightly shifted off center and the tsuba is a little crooked. Also there is some marring on the blade about 3/4 the way up the blade that Daryl tried to polish out as best as he could. They were caused during the final construction. There is also a ding in the kojiri that happened during shipping.
Overall it's an awesome piece to behold and looks great on the rack. Definitely a unique piece and for what it is, it's extremely comfortable and balanced. The fit of the hababki into the koiguchi is perfect which is not something that I've found on most of the swords I've owned.
I'll post more pictures in the morning with detail on the imperfections and I can always be reached via email to send specific picture requests if need be. Don't hesitate to shoot me an email at derekschwendeman9@gmail.com
Daryl's customs usually go for $1000 and up; I'm looking to get $850.00 for this one via paypal due to the imperfections. It's unused and as I received it about a month ago. I'm selling it in an effort to pay some bills off and get ready to start paying for childcare.

I'm having trouble uploading a lot of my picture files. If anyone would like to see more photos please shoot me an email and I'll get right back to you.
