I have been experimenting with knife blanks and different handle material. I hope one day to make knives, but right now all the equipment is out of my price range. My question is, where do I find high quality knife blanks? I have found decent sources for the handles, but I am finding quality blanks harder to find. Any one have any suggestions?

I know there are some on eBay, but does anyone know of a source that deals just in high quality blanks instead of those crap Damascus blanks?

Yes Jantz has some nice ones that they make. you could also contact a custom maker I've seen several on here make a blank for someone. Put a post in Services Wanted section in the Exchange.

I would agree with Dave. Get one that Jantz actually make themsleves.

As the above provider is not a paid member I cant suggest this business but can only echo Horsewrights suggestion.

Ive bought blanks from this provider and could not have been happier.

The below may be 'SSS' - 'some sort of Stainless steel,' as Ebbtide of this forum suggested, but boy oh boy does it perform! I could NOT be happier.

Thanks everyone for all the advice! I will look into them and post in services wanted

Jantz supply has already been mentioned, but I know that Lisa at Wolf creek Forge used to have some. She can be contacted by the bushcraft type website. I also recommend checking with the Hosted knife makers here, such as JK and AA Forge.
