I have always been a "collector".. which probably means when I find something I like, I buy more then one. Before knives I started with American coins, and recently sold them all and started accumulating gold coins. I started playing drums when I was eleven and could not stop ordering custom snare drums. I accumulated a bunch of microphones I liked as well. I even got into snakes at one point, and instead of treating it as just owning pets, it became a collection.

Custom knife collectors often have a good eye when it comes to collecting things. I would like to see what you've got. Please show pictures and explain.

I will either take some photos of things or find images I already have- to be posted soon.

Here are the gold coins from the early nineteen hundreds. There are a few other types from different eras but I find these the most attractive and interesting. Of all the different American "Eagle" gold coins, mine are all the Indian head kind. I have five at the moment. Four Quarter eagles, and one Half Eagle which is the one in the plastic case.

Snaredrums, starting with the newest and most recent one, followed by two older ones. The blue one and the brown one were custom made by a company based on how many wood layers I wanted and what the composition of those layers would be to get the tone that I want. I always go for gold plated hardware. Those two have special custom wood finishes on the outside layers. The blue is exotic curly Tamo Ash and the brown is curly Bubinga.

I got myself a pretty good collection of crashing induced scars :)

I used to collect rare aquarium fish. Some not so legal.

It truly sucks that I don't know the password to that photo bucket account.

Hello!

The coins look great! Thanks for sharing!

I initially started with watches. While I focussed on Omega and Rolex at first (mostly vintage, manual, automatic and quartz alike), I switched almost exclusively to HEQ later on (high end quartz), a niche not loved by many (no "soul" etc). I for one am fascinated by the excentric pieces, often found amongst HEQ watches though.

In collectng knives, I wonder how long it will take me to completely transit to art knives as well... ;)

Here is one very excentric Campanola (Citizen) HEQ of mine:

Jonathan, that is my absolute favorite American coin Design. Interesting history on the stamping of those as well that they were not popular being a recessed image , it was believed that they would carry and pass more contaminates. How do you not take them out and just admire them? Chris

Beautiful drums Jonathan, I always loved the sound of a deep wooden snare.

Alex, Real nice watch mate. I think the Campanola's are a lovely watch, and I've read that they are very well made and finished. They are not available over here. I don't really understand why a lot of collectors seem to hate some of these high end modern quartz watches, I think a nice well made watch is, regardless of its mechanism, a nice well made watch. I used to have a nice little collection of 50's and 60's watches, but most of them were stolen in a break in last year. Problem I have now is that I can't afford to replace them as they have gone up a lot over the years. I still have three nice ones, A 50's Baume and Mercier Chronograph and two very nice 60's Le Coultre's, one is a Memovox and the other is a Powermatic.

Love the old gold coins Jon!

For me it's knives, guns, power hammers & chainsaws. Not so much collecting though, as I use them all.

I carve, collect, and use my own flat water canoe paddles. I used to make A LOT of these years ago and I have several hundred around the planet, but these are some of the ones I've made for my wife, daughter and myself.

My wife collects and plays Eastern Woodlands Indian flutes. These three were made by White Crow Flutes(Barry Higgins http://www.whitecrowflutes.com/Bio.htm) in Easthampton, MA.

These are the "fetishes" that fit atop each flute's sound hole to produce the sound.

I like to collect my MX trophies, guns, knives, fishing rods. I also like to hoard materials I think I might use one day lol.

JParanee, you ride a lot? I've been racing MX for around 22 years. Now have my son on a Cobra 50 and it's a blast training him. I don't collect bikes but I collect some rare trophies, Like gold medals from Loretta Lynns Nationals :-))

I didn't know Air boats were used in PA... You guys have swamp or marsh up there?
