hello i don't know if this is the right forum if not could somebody point my in the right direction

anyway i want to have a custom knife built w/ sheath this is a sketch of the knife (sorry its not to good) i am hoping to get some reasonable prices since its not to fancy. i want exactly what you see with maybe a few changes to the handle and a standard brown leather sheath with billeted edge. is there a way of making a brown pommel out of something hard like metal if not i will just change it to brass

in case you don't know what it is the black thing is a front view of the hand guard all be it a crappy depiction

you will have better luck finding a custom maker that makes that style of knife and then getting the pricing. Maybe someone will chime in that makes that style.

TRy searching Custom Survival Knife in google maybe

The handle design is not good, the junction between the blade and the handle is a high risk area for stress fractures.

You might want to rethink this and talk it over with the knifemaker who you chose to do the job.

I would bid it but I work with 440C almost exclusively.

I am willing to change the metal it's just I want to try and keep the look and are you talking where the tang becomes the blade what could I do to fox that and still try and keep it close to the original design

Some questions and comments:
Do you want the guard a sharp cornered rectangle like the drawing? Or would it be better to have some taper toward the bottom ( trapezoidal).

Bronze would turn to a dark brown for the guard and pommel cap.

154CM is the same as CPM-154 or ATS-34.

What is your time frame?

Because the parameters you set are very specific, you will probably pay a little more. The maker will have to follow your guidelines and not his own skills set and style.

If you aren't in a hurry, I would think that a price of somewhere around $450 would be right. If you get no takers, send me an email and I will make up a template for you to look at.

I Tryed to get a better image and on top of that his knife changes size alot in the cartoon so I drew my own and yes I have been a fan of the show since I watched the pilot when it aired for the first time and Brock said " go ahead ... Take it from me."

ps do you think that I got the sizing right

It's a cartoonist's simplistic ideas of what a knife should be.

...there is no ricasso area at all.

as Stacy mentioned, the square cornered guard is odd too

Are you using this as a prop, or wall hanger? If so, I would recomend that you try your hand at it using aluminum for the blade...you can always paint it black. If your looking for a real knife....my opinion is that its a poor design. You will end up spending good $$$ on a bad design and not be happy with it's performance.
Not trying to offend...just my 2 cents.;)

Are you using this as a prop, or wall hanger? ... blah blah blah ...just my 2 cents.;)

Mace, Mace, Mace.... It has nothing to do with proper geometry or materials..... ANY version of Brock Samson's knife will outperform ANY knife on the market, period. You could make it out of wood and it'll still dice diamonds all day, my friend.

Silent John... I would like to try my hand at this knife in the future. I've got some ideas, and the dimensions will be a bit different. I am WAY too swamped right now... but soon.

Email me at my signature link if you are interested, and willing to wait a couple of months.

I might try and make It myself I would just buy a piece of flat stock and cut it out this isn't my main knife my real bushcraft knife is a Becker BK-2 if anybody could give me a price on custom polished g-10 handles for one with a brass lanyard tube that would be cool

keep in mind I am shopping around I still have to save some money

HERE IS A NEW DESIGN THIS BLADE WOULD BE 7 1/2 INCHES

i redesigned it to what i think is more practical and maybe a little easier to make the polish wont be mirror but still a nice shiny blade to gleam in the sun and a standard brown leather sheath with a fire steel holder

Pomel and guard would look better if they matched. Red liners to me look best with black. Also that knife with a scandi will be a heavy knife that could be better with a higher flat grind.

Don't worry about the colors I have a weird sense of Taste this is not supposed to be pretty but the grind I will reconsider
