Hello everyone,

John has been kind enough to invite me to post some of my leatherwork here in his forum, so I figured I would take him up on his very gracious invitation. I use only horsehide leather that has been tanned in Chicago, IL and stitch mainly with pure hemp thread, and I do all of the work by hand--I don't even have a sewing machine (unfortunately for my hands :P).

Most of the leatherwork I do is belts, bracelets, dog collars, etc., but I can and will do other items on request. I haven't done many sheaths, but I have done them--unfortunately, I won't have any pictures good enough to actually see anything in until I finish the sheaths I'm currently working on (which I'm waiting on a replacement tool to finish). I will eventually post up some pictures when I finish those sheaths, but in the meantime, here are some examples of my work:

If anybody is interested in anything, just let me know. Belts tend to be my most popular item, so while there may be some variation for customizations, here is some pricing on those for you folks:

Undyed Belt: $45
Brown or Black Belt: $50
Apocalyptic Survivor Style Belt: $75
Hand-Stitched Double Layer Belt: $110+

Thanks everybody, and thanks again John!

I asked Noah to post this leather gear here because I have asked him to be a source for sheaths for JK Knives. If anyone prefers something other than one of my sheaths, I will do a discount price on the knife they order. I can then either send it to Noah, or send it to the buyer to fondle for a bit before they send it on. Let`s welcome Wasteland Leather as the official optional supplier of sheaths for JK Knives!

Very nice work and great idea. Although I really like the sheaths you have made for my knives, it is a great idea to get different choices.

Looks like some nice stuff.

Could you make a dog collar with a sheath for a JK tin knife? That would be cool.

Sure I could. Shoot me an e-mail (wastelandleatherwork@gmail.com) if you are interested :)

Nice work Noah!

John -- Can you send Noah the Michigan Trail Knife for a sheath? I'll be thrilled to take advantage of Noah's skills.

I mess with leather too - and I want to let everyone know how easy that kind of quality ISN'T!

Those belts look great - and price is a steal for what you are getting. Essentially, someone will bury you in it before it wears out.

NICE!

Thanks Rotte! I'll be happy to make you a sheath--send me an e-mail with what you're wanting :)

Good looking leather work! What is an Apocalyptic Survivor Style Belt?

Thank you, sir. As to what that is--Apocalyptic Survivor is a super-distressed, post-apocalyptic-looking style I developed. The third belt pictured, as well as the business card case, are done in that style.

Thank you very much TF! Your leatherwork is an inspiration to me, so hearing that from you means a lot!

Will do! It will be in late January, as scheduled.

Hello everyone,

Here is my latest creation--a sheath for a Mora #1. Made of 7-9oz horsehide leather, distressed in my Apocalyptic Survivor style, and made with a dual-carry fold-over belt loop (you can wear it standard carry or horizontally, and the slot that allows it to be carried horizontally also makes it very easy to tie cord to it for neck carry).

Thanks for looking!

Well, I forgot I had this thread :P. In any case, you all have probably seen the sheath I made for Rotte:

Well, I dug up a sheath I made for myself for a knife I forged with the help of Tai Goo last year, and I took some pictures of it. It's plain, and I whipped it up pretty quickly because it was for my own use, but I really like the character that it has because I managed to get enough dye into it to bring out the natural flaws and patterns in the leather:

And while I was at it, I took a better picture of that Mora sheath:

I have a couple of people wanting sheaths here pretty soon, so hopefully I'll have some more updates before too long.

Thanks!

Hi Noah -

Nice! I really like the Apocalyptic style - but I also like the deep dyed sheath that you did for yourself.

My Bowie will be done in late March / early April, so I will ask Stomper to send it to you for a sheath at that time.

The next knife I have coming is a camp kit from Stomper, and that one comes with a unique sheath as part of the kit.

Very nice work and a great compliment to Stompers fine knives!

best regards -

Just finished this pocket sheath for my Neckmuk. For whatever reason, the combination of the new dye color I used (Cordovan) and having my mom's camera instead of my fiancee's made it really hard to photograph.

In case you are wondering, yes, the sheath is "left-handed" but only because I clip it inside my right front pocket or the side pocket on my carpenter jeans, as shown in the picture. I'm not a southpaw :P

Noah --

That looks like a great combination (mini-Nessie and pocket sheath). Really great.

I absolutely want a pocket sheat from you. I had one for my Graham Razel and loved it.

Very nice work, my friend.
