Custom Lum Tanto

I had my older scanner at the SHOT Show. I didn't get as much use out of it as I thought I might, but I did get a chance to give a brief scanning lesson to a few of the Spyderco crew between their all-too-busy schedule. Here's the test subject, a custom Lum tanto:

The high-grade hand-rubbed finish, and the bright point in particular, was a difficult subject.

WOW. I' d like one, or two! Thanks for the scan James. You stated it is a custom but is it a collaboration with Spyderco as well?? Or is it a special made just for the show?

VERY nice Lum Custom ......WOW, I don't like tanto's but I like the Lum.

Nice scan and nice knife. Clean lines, good looking grind and nice blade profile. Like the belly in the blade. Interested to see if this will be a Spydie model.

WOW, I really like that! I've been holding off on the Lum Tanto because I didn't care for the current production handle. But, I'd pick this one up right away if it went into production.

Just to clarify . . .

That's not a Spyderco knife.

That's a Bob Lum knife, handmade by him, to the same or similar profile as his Spyderco collaboration, but the materials are different, and the detail work is where custom makers earn their keep.
