I wanted to share with everyone here my completed weekend project. It's a new custom leather sheath for my CS Mini Bushman. I don't have the resources for kydex so the only option was leather. Another thing was, because of the handle shape, I had a hard time finding anything that would secure the knife in the sheath. The knife was easily pulled out, cutting the leather straps. I had a strap with snap fasteners on the lower part of the handle, near the blade and one also near the butt of the knife. Due to the lack of a guard it was no chore to pull the knife straight out. Then I got to wandering around the house and found some old hiking packs and scrapped some of the elastic bungee cord and came up with what you see here.

I forgot to add that the knife holds better with the elastic cord than the leather straps.

nice work the elastic can also be used to hold a small psk to the outside of the sheath....you should try to contact NORMARK from here in the forums he is a master of well made and inexpensive kydex sheaths, it's what he does, and he's reall good at it...but again really nice job

that's a pretty cool looking sheath. How do you like the knife? Can you tell me a bit about it?

A couple years ago I owned a full size Bushman. I recently got a hold of this mini. Your talking about a tough knife. It's a very simple knife and holds a great edge. It's not hard to sharpen either. The knife handle is hollow designed for carrying survival kits (I've never used it for that) and as a spear point. I plan on cord wrapping the handle for a more secure grip. That is the only thing this knife lacks in is a secure grip. But, there is nothing that paracord can't handle.

I was just thinking the other day that nobody seemed to offer a sheath for the MB that would satisfy me. Nice work!

That is great!!! I love the shock cord that secures the handle. (Why didn't I think of that!) Really good idea!

That's cool. I'm getting into sheath making and my large and small Bushmen are in the "Projects to be done" line-up right now. Mac

Sheath looks good. The sheath(second hand) that came with my Mini BM was somewhat similar but had Paracord. I found the blade was slicing the cord everytime I withdru it. Didn't bother me much cuz Pcord is cheap and it was an easy fix, but I had concerns with losing the knife out in the field. Waiting on a kydex sheath from Eric as we speak.
