custom multitool sheaths

Last fall, someone posted a picture of a custom sheath (for a multitool) that was made by another forum member. I have decided that I want one and now I can't remember who made it. I've searched the archive and can't find the message. I believe it was a horizontal-carry sheath. I think the maker was in Alaska if that helps. Does anyone else remember this? Am I just getting old?

Thanks if you can help.

Brad

Gary Graley did that work. He is very reasonable and good to work with.

Didn't Chiro75 make a cool kydex sheath for the Gerber multi-tool? I thought he did and included a feature which opened the pliers upon removal from the sheath and closed the pliers upon re-insertion.
Hey Chiro, if you are out there, please sound off!

You can't go wrong with Gary's work, both it and the man himself are top notch.

I have made sheaths (Kydex and Concealex) for the Leatherman Wave and the Gerber Multiplier and Multilock. The pics I have all show the sheath in a vertical carry position, although they were all able to be carried horizontally, too. Therefore, I suspect that the question refers to Gary Graley's leather sheath for the Voctorinox Swisstool. I am WAY too busy to continue offering sheaths. Normark makes a really cool-looking Gerber sheath that opens the tool just like mine did. His is a lot more minimalist than mine, and it looks really cool.

I have the most awesome horizontal kydex system for my Leatherman PST that a guy who doesn't make sheaths anymore made me. It has a thumb release. Very well done. I just don't like the PST so I don't use it much but I certainly love the holster.

Greg,

I'll bet you were in on that thread a while back...that's probably where I remember the Alaska thing from in my initial post. It was Gary Graley that made the sheath I was wondering about. I remember the pictures that are on his website now. I would prefer a sheath made out of a synthetic material because I'm rough on them and I'd hate to tear up that nice leather.

I have a friend that owns his own business and gave all his guys Leatherman Supertools last year. I think he wants to give them a sheath this year.

PS I work for the wrong guy. I can't remember what I got but it sure wasn't a Leatherman...

I had Matt Draper build me a Kydex sheath for my Leatherman Wave and I love it. He designed it to ride either horizontal or vertical. I prefer the vertical carry. Very well designed and very low profile. The Leatherman is held in the sheath with compression and is very secure. The belt loop also functions very well as a clip to be worn with out a belt. The Kydex that Matt uses has a leatherlike covering on it so that it does not look like plastic. Overall I am very happy with this sheath, I am rarely without it.
