Custom or Strider?

Ok, I stumbled upon some extra dough and want something BA this time around. I've really really wanted a John Grimsmo Norseman and a Strider for a very long time. I have enough for either, but not both. The Striders I like are the SNG and SMF's. I have really larger hands, so the SMF would probably be best. Any help would be great. Or any other knives you can throw out there, besides CRK, I'm not interested in them at this time. Thanks guys!!

I would definitely get the Strider. Those Norseman knives blade shape is to weird and doesn't seem practical for much.

Get the Strider.
If the Strider can't hold you, get the custom.
My top two folders are my SnG and my Willumsen Tuco.

The blade doesn't seem practical, but it is BA! Is it hard to find the Striders in 154-CM still? I really want that over S35VN.

Having both, (an SMF CC/SnG GG along with a Norseman) that is a tough decision. I would say get the Norseman to support John and Eric, they are awesome guys and the knife is top notch. Really light and thin for the size.

They are awesome guys, and I'd rather support them than a bigger company. Although I know Strider isn't huge. It's just insanely hard to make up my mind. I would just love to have each, and can't figure out what to do.

Still I'd get the strider. It's a proven blade made by experts. Not some prototype beta test experiment. And strider has the best warranty in the biz.

I honestly know nothing about their warranty policy. I've never even seen a Strider in person. Is there anything special to look for in Striders?

These are my two favorite knives right now:

I've been carrying the Strider SNG more, but like the Shirogorov better, but the blade is a bit big for my daily use. The gunner grip is my favorite flavor of strider, but can be a little hard on your pants. I also like the stone washed flat ground blade in CPM-154, but I really can't tell the difference between it and the s30v. Strider heat treat is great in either steel.

I think I've just decided on the Strider. I know I won't be upset either way, it was just a tough decision to make. So with that being said, where is the best place to pick one up? Ive seen some online here and there, but if there is some place that everyone goes, id love know hear about it. Thanks for any pics and opinions shared, its greatly appreciated.

Which model, handle configuration, and steel did you decide on?
I'm sure you won't be disappointed it's one of my favorite knives.

Any of the online dealers are fine. I don't know which ones we can mention on here, but just google "Strider knives" and you'll find a few of the more popular ones.

every site sells strider, I got mine from bladehq. CPM154 Stonewashed, lego coyote brown SNG.

Depends on your usage. I own an SnG (lego my ego) and I would consider it more of a toolish knife. While I don't own a Norseman, I get the impression its more of a artsy look at me blade. Just depends on your usage.

i was in the same boat as you about a month ago. strider or a custom?

i went strider and wow it really is something else. i grabbed lego smf in 154cm. and i will say its just as good as any s35vn i have used. including crk's s35vn.
after getting the lego i think i should have gone with the DGG because its like 5-10% too wide for the pants i wear daily. and if i went with the cc im sure it wouldnt have the grip i would be looking for.

good luck and post pics !
