I wanted to know if there is someone out there that could make me a parang in 1055 or 1095 steel? I have pics of the style I'm looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello
Not to rain on your request but is there a specific reason for the 1055 or 1095 steel? They seem like either end of the spectrum. If you are really going to beat this thing going 1055 might be better but if you are just looking for a big cutter the 1095 might be better. 1084 would be the middle ground.

Most if not all the south east Asia east parangs are made from leaf springs which are usually 5160 but can be other carbon bearing steels.

If you have even a bit of skill you can order a pair (2) of 90% completed blades, delivered, for less than $40 from some guy in Malasia. I'll send his info if interested.

just my $.02
