I might just give Justin a call and see if he has any G-10 left. I can see it on my custom RD4, with the blade thinned out a bit to 3/16 or so. Sweet
I have a thinned Rd-4 with maroon micarta. Thinning it out makes it a quick little devil!
To help get the inspiration to order my first Ranger, I started the below thread requesting custom pics (not in "The Gallery" though - Oops). Needless to say, I was inspired!

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I don't need a 1/4 inch thick four inch blade. What did you have it thinned out to measuring at the spine?
I got some of that Blue G10 coming on my Satin RD4 with black spacers - its gonna be BAD!!! I've got Justin rounding off the first little bit of blade in front of the choil so that I quit cutting myself when I choke up (cuz I'm an idiot). Should be here next week, I'll throw up a new thread w/ some pix! I'm also planning on having Leatherface make me up a sheath for it as well (once I can stand to part with it for a couple weeks to send it to him!).

I am already planning my next semi-custom Ranger. I like the look of the RD7 "Recurve" that I saw on Knifeforum. I see one in my future.
It feels similar to the Micarta slabs on the other knifes I own. For a large chopper like this I like the full tang, bolted on handle style.I know G-10 is very popular for folders, but how do those big slabs of G-10 feel on a large knife like that?
