Today I'm listing my full custom Benchmade 940 for trade. I'm open to any and all offers, but I'm not big on fixed blades.
Dollar amounts listed are for reference only; a value index since this is such an unusual knife. This is a trade ad.
I don't expect to get all of my money back out of it necessarily, but wanted to list the info to paint an accurate picture of what it took to cobble this knife together.
Donor knife was a 940-2. Everything but the axis chassis and the screws have been replaced. $175
The blade is a custom one-off from @razor-edge-knives in m390 at 62hrc I believe. This is one of a batch of 24 made last year that I then redesigned to it's current shape. All of the actual grinding and shaping was done by Josh/REK. It is VERY thin BTE and slices better than anything else I've ever owned. I believe the total cost for the blade was around $300.
The titanium scales are from Rockscale designs. I've since anodized and then polished them giving them a unique look and feel. Similar to a coin edge. Textured, but not at all abrasive. $154
The backspacer is a blue burl wood and was made by @deathofallthings. The interior surface has been milled/channelled a bit in a rather ungraceful manner by myself to prevent the blade from making contact. It's not unsightly and won't be seen at all unless you know to look for it, but I don't want my sloppy work to reflect on the original craftsman. The exterior is stunning and unblemished. $45
I've also added and anodized an MXG deep carry clip. $25
Blade is centered, locks up solid and drops shut.
My only specific interests at this time is a Green/Black Microtech Dirac Delta.
Offers may include multiple knives, combinations of knives and cash or added cash from my end for the right knife.
