Custom SAK Farmer

I was wondering if you knew him Mike, since he lives right in your neck of the woods!
Yeah I have seen a couple of the pens he does too, pure talent right there. On sosak, there are a bunch of pics of mods he's done. I was blown away, I never realized all the cool sak mods that could be done!

ohh man.. you have no idea... that guy does some amazing stuff, with those SAK's... he was making custom yeoman's for a while, after they discontinued them.. i still want to get one of those from him.. the yeoman's were/are my favorite SAK's...

if i can get you and the misses over here one of these days T, we can go and pay bill a visit...:D

Is there contact info or a website available to the public for these? I am the picture of lust.;):D

I got one of those as well. I had him do the scissor mod to mine. It is the most functional SAK ever!!

H

I was very close to having him add scissors to this one, but I didn't want this one to be thicker and I didn't want to lose any tools. But I plan on getting another without the clip, but with scissors added. That really would be the ultimate in functionality!

Mine does not look as good. The Farmer is my for my favorite outdoor knife. Is with my everyday. In the woods, or in the office. Good stuff T. :)

The pics of yours and Spookypistolero's are the ones that made me really want a Farmer :D

that is the coolest thing! i can already think of two farmer mods I've got to have - one with the can opener/bottle opener removed for a slimmer profile and another with the can opener/bottle opener replaced with scissors and an extra blade

a SAK with a clip - it's a dream come true!

I am really into these mods, but the price quoted to me for the clip and anodized green was 4X what I paid for my Farmer. I am still checking out getting some mods and think that it is some beautiful work. Just a bit more expensive than I expected.

Yep it was pricey, especially considering the original cost of the Farmer. But now I look at it as basically a custom knife, and Bills work is perfect. But I still like my non-custom Farmers too. Just all around great knives.

I'll still try to get one of Bill's beauties. If I can finagle a way to get Busses, I can get a custom of my favorite folder. Thanks for letting us know these exist.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

These are a special run Felinevet and I decided to do. (He has them in his shop)

They are a LOT of work and it does make them spendy.

Farmers are only about $17 so it makes it look even more expensive.

I wish it was easier and cheaper, but they take forever to do. Knife has to come apart, I have to strip the scales myself of the factory anodizing making sure all of the shield paint comes off since the anodizer couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be paint splotches on the shields.

They get soaked in strong nitric acid to deoxidize, rinsed, stripped in strong caustic with chelating agents, rinsed, desmutted in Nitric again, rinsed, and dried. Then taken to the anodizer and reassembled. There's over 2 hours work in each knife and more if the clips are done. Anodizing, chemical costs, gas etc.

But, you get the second hardest substance known to man protecting your SAK !

The coating is basically the same as sapphire in chemical structure.

Anyway, glad you like yours Tknife! Thanks.

Holy cow, thats a lot of work! :)

If you guys are interested, I did a quick write up on SOSAK on the Woodsman Scibeer built for me. :)

His work is second to none. Worth every penny!
