You need some force. The tight fit is intentional, much like in the original SS liners, since the lanyard contributes to overall mechanical sturdiness.

The other possibility is to get an aftermarket Ti lanyard tube (Flytanium, for instance) that usually fits easier (no flare).

I finally said screw it and got out a small hammer and cardboard. With some medium force and few choice words it finally went on. Those scales are never coming off, LOL. Definitely different without the liners. May look at some new hardware to complete the new look!

Well, I was wrong. Rock Scale does offer at least some of their scales with a LH option. I contacted them and this was confirmed. I ordered the "critter" pattern for my Manix 2 XL, the OCD-EDC upgrade kit, a Flytanium Ball Cage, and a Lynch "long Spyderco" clip. They all went together pretty easily but I suggest watching some of the youtube videos that others have made about installing these items. The result is a fantastic knife, slick and quick to open and with perfect fit. I finished it with a pewter Schmuckatelli skull bead and a bit of black paracord for a fob. Although the photo makes the scales look blue, they actually are a very handsome dark grey. I'm very happy.

I know Applied Weapons Tech will be dropping some very soon. I’ve been very happy with mine for the Manix 2.
