I realize that this close to blade this is the wrong time to ask, but I've never been accused of being smrt so here goes.
So aside from hoarding sharp things, I also shoot, am a dad bla bla bla.
So ends the uncool stuff.
I also have a 41 Willy's MB that I've been 'restoring' for about the past 10 years. It's mostly original, except for the parts that I've replaced for mechanical reasons. It's one thing to be period correct, it's another to not be a sound vehicle. But that's a different debate..
So a few years ago I had to replace the rear leaf springs, I could have sent them out to be reconditioned but I didn't, sue me. But I kept the springs because well those springs carried GIs across Europe specifically France and Belgium if the serial numbers are to be trusted.
Well the driver side spring has been spoken for, a friend claimed it years ago. The passanger side I'd like to have a knife made out of. I'm happy to split the whole leaf and send out bits, but I'd like them to be used, and I'd like one of those pieces used to make something for me out of my jeep, which is history.
So assuming Blade doesn't make everyone crazy busy, are there any makers who would be willing to consider the task? Not looking for a handout, I'll happily pay for the work and artistry I just want to supply the medium.
Would any makers interesting in working something old into ....?
