I am in search of someone to custom make a sheath that can hold two different machetes side by side, upside down, with no safety straps needed. I would like to be able to be able to wear this on my back. Is something like this possible?

It is most probably very possible, but have you given any thought to how you would re-sheath them? Upside down behind your back??

I agree with Paul. I'm certain it could be done, but it may not be practical.

I'd recommend taking a look at some of the makers work at the top of the page and see if anyone makes work that strikes your fancy. I wouldn't expect it to be inexpensive, but who knows?

What do you mean "re-sheath them"? Not trying to sound like a smartass in any way, but that's why I posted, to find out if anyone could do it. One is a KaBar "cutlass machete" and the other is a Kershaw camp 10. I have devised a way to carry the Kershaw, in it's sheath (with safety strap) upside down on my back but the leather sheath for the KaBar doesn't allow this. Was hoping to find a Kydex customizer to fit both of them side by side as I have ZERO knowledge of making sheathes. I can easily and practically carry the Kershaw no problem due to it's sheath, but I don't like the safety strap.

He means after you take the knife out of the sheath how are you going to put them back in the sheath upside down on your back. Re-sheath.

Exactly.

It might not be practical to try and sheath large blades like those without careful attention.

We just don't want to see anyone unnecessarily perforated. ;)

Ah, got ya. Well, practice makes perfect. The set up I currently use has taken some getting used to and a bit of effort, but that is why I would like there to be no retention straps. As I can easily "re-sheath" it, but have to mess with the strap for a few seconds before it is snapped correctly. I have become quite proficient in handling these two different machetes
