For a year and then some I thought a custom 112 would be a good idea for Buck..I'm so glad it's really come to past!!! Like many I have had a lot of trouble getting in to the web site to compare choices and build a 110 with my bad dial-up connection...Poor Pete...when I was putting in the order for my first one he had to repeat handle options 3 times! So Joe, Pete could you PLEASE PLEASE List options and prices for us on this thread as many who dont have axcess for whatever reason cant log on to the build section...REMEMBER! CUSTOM SHOP 112's ARE ONLY FOR A LIMTED, yes verry, LIMTED TIME!!!!! Get you order in soon....I'll bet CS 112's will in the future be a truly rare Buck... The total produced I think will be under 500 and many, like mine, will neaver be on e;bay...So if you ever think you will want one......

As far as I know this will be a 'trial' offering by Buck and only for a limted time..Look at the 'Custom Shop rumors' thread..BUT Pete is taking orders by phone..Mabe Buck is trying to test the waters concerning the custom shop? If 112's work we might see 120's In any case,YOU CAN order one now[112] It might neaver be a regular offering or be seen on the web site...Pricing is the same as CS 110's I THINK..Buck is trying to please us long time 112 fans who have wanted a CS 112 for years! Im getting mine while they will make one, in 2 weeks or less the window for orders might close...Mabe neaver to come again..I really think this is a test...

You have to call them, they are not on the site and I don't think they will be.

I haven't ordered once since the calling part isn't easy for me. Can't win them all though and I am glad to see more options out there!

.Maybe Buck is trying to test the waters ? ..Maybe never to come again..I really think this is a test...

That's because Buck is in denial about the fact that people want BG-42.

They could have had a lot more orders from people who already had a custom 110 in BG-42 and wanted to have a matching set of custom 110/112s......but Buck, for some reason, chooses to refuse to listen.

I suspect that Buck offers materials based on what they can buy cheap......NOT what the customers are asking for.

In other words, their offerings are driven by what they can buy cheap, not what the customer wants.

Apparently, BG-42 has gotten expensive and they'd have to raise the prices to offer it.

And they don't like that......but even if they'd have to raise the prices a little.......wouldn't it be better to offer it if that's what the customers WANT???

It's ok to make a mistake, but the companies that are willing to admit they were wrong and correct their mistakes are the ones that stay in business.

For a company to say, "You'll buy whatever we decide to offer and be glad to get it," just doesn't work in today's market.

I ordered Flame Koa,NS,no rivits ,finger grooves,S30V,brown sheath, and engraving... I think there are about 40 to 50 ordered at this time..Since they will collectable no dought 'dealers' will order some for resale as word hasent really gotten out you can order a CS 112...I think Buck should send out a e;mail,'something' on there web site as its only for a limted time they are taking orders. Some are going to miss! Then again Buck might NOT want to make a bunch....But I'm glade I have one on the way!

when they run out, the steel has to be available for them to buy..
Roc - your friends in china are buying all they can so you have to do with out,,,
also
they have to be able to get the steel of correct size to make a knife from..
i know that several sheets of SS Damascus were useless and had to be sent back to the suppler as they were too thin..

Is that your official explanation, Dave?

You are saying that Buck is unable to get BG-42 because China bought it all so there's none available anywhere?

Will someone from Buck verify your statement?

If someone could post a few pic's of the handle woods Koa, Fiji Orangewood, Oak, Cherry ect. they had there 110's done in...I still cant get in the 'Build It' section on my dial-up connection....Be Proud! Post a pic! Iv'e neaver seen 'Fiji Orangewood'....

Call Pete on the phone and have him describe it to you... :D

Let him know that Buck's crappy web site is losing Custom Shop sales... ;)

...LOL...I ordered a pizza from a place that got rave reviews in the local paper and was told by the girl who answered, that the store had burned down...I told her how badly I wanted to try their pizza and how sorry I was for the business loss..."Don't worry", she said to me, and she started to describe how good their pizza was...I was totally unfulfilled...and still hungry...:grumpy::p
