Custom Shop 112 Options!!!!!

For a company to say, "You'll buy whatever we decide to offer and be glad to get it," just doesn't work in today's market.

Gee Rocinante, with all your wisdom you must be a very rich person.
Please share all that you know with us mortals.:jerkit:

Is that your official explanation, Dave?

You are saying that Buck is unable to get BG-42 because China bought it all so there's none available anywhere?

Will someone from Buck verify your statement?

Well, I am not Dave, but I'll tell you what I know. According to Sal Glesser (Spyderco), BG-42 has become quite hard to get and the waiting time is significant. It seems that BG-42 is used as ball bearing steel for jet engines and according to US law, the military has 'first dibbs'. It would appear that the military is exercising their option.

Obviously a skeptic......but, in truth, you know nothing about me.

I wouldn't call me VERY rich......just fairly rich.

As with most rich people, it was mostly good luck, no special wisdom involved, just common sense.

However.....it's nice anyhow, and I'll take it.

;)

And.....does it really take great wisdom to figure out that for a company to say, "You'll buy whatever we decide to offer and be glad to get it," just doesn't work in today's market?"

Come on......that's common sense. You give the customers what they ask for.....or provide a good reason why it's impossible.

Business 101.

Thanks. Instead of "it would appear," I'd really like to get a real answer from either one of the official cheerleaders or Buck.

It would have been nice to make up some matched sets of 110s and 112s, but the refusal to make them in BG-42 killed that idea.

Roc,

Instead of winning about the lack of BG-42 for a 110/112 combo. Why don't you order a 110 & 112 in S30V like everyone else and quit complaning. Your like a broken record:rolleyes:. You made the boast you can aford it.

Roc is attempting to become like a C'Trax ... but on speed.....
however he severely lacks the Chicken's developing sublime stinging humor..
there are many ways to get in your commentary..
The Chicken has grown to being more like a cat-burglar and looking for hidden opportunity such as a unlocked door or window and lacking those openings will take the time to pick the lock to get in his commentary ...
I don’t think 'Trax finds much challenge or fun walking in a open door any more..
Lacking the Chickens developing skill's, Roc is taking the path of crashing in the walls with his car to get in his comments ..
he does not yet have the mental facilities to construct her words into intelligent thought provoking commentary...life on the street does not require finesse
so on line instead of being cool ...
Roc is like the small spoiled child in the store screaming and kicking for attention...
or the 95 year old pervert whom flashes the nurses for shock value,
he does not realize that after a while it ceases to shock and hold attention ..
and gets only the minor attention we will pay to road kill on the hi-way as we pass by..
:(
perhaps some day he will mature .

IMHO
if you are going to spring for a CS display Queen,

why in the world use laminated dyed beech wood?
walnut & oak are solid wood and the same price and look great! ..
so here i i have to disagree with you bro..
now if it is to be a true hunting or go to work
USER
then go for the plywood as it is supper stable!

Back on track here, I talked to Pete today, and he informed me that they would take custom 112 orders through the end of October.

I found this through google. Bucksway you should try that option in your search for things.

About a month ago someone got his orangewood CS110 in and posted a picture. I suppose someone could find it. It was a really nice one.

Looks pretty nice with brass.
