Custom Shop.. Bad Feelings

This is an odd time of the day for such an announcement from a stranger.

I suggest we tar and feather him first and ask questions later, ok?

Even if he's for real......he deserves it for screwing up so royally and causing such a turmoil.

As I undstand his post, he is stating that the posted prices were 2X (i.e., retail) the selling price (i.e., wholesale), and I think that is indeed true for Buck's sales to its distributors. Few distributors, however, actually sell the knives at the retail prices (because they are just too expensive), so most are heavily discounted; just check flea bay for some of this year's limited editions. I've even seen a few of this years leather handled 110's go for less than wholesale on flea bay recently. So that would then mean that the custom shop would sell to buyers at their wholesale prices? Ain't gonna happen. Perhaps a licensed distributor might purchase them at that price (now there's a thought). Just more suspicion to add to the whole scenario! Boy, I;m sleeply!!:yawn:
 
I thought I was paranoid! :eek:

It's not unusual for every link in the supply chain to double or nearly double the cost of something like this. I make a knife and sell it to a distributer for $10, the distributer sells it for $20 to a retail outlet, retail outlet charges $40.
 
well i weather it was the real guy or not
clearly he did not know how to deal with hard core friendly knife nuts
he did what a troll is known to do
make post in two or 3 threads, not resonding to questions,
standing back reading and watching like some one haveing taken a stick and messing with fire ants...

today i hope we will learn whats what,,,
and i will learn if i gots dryed egg on my face or not...
never did like the tast of crow or humbal berry pie,,,

:cool:...If any of you have already ordered...the 15% discount will be deducted after the knives are ready to ship...This is per Pete Mason at Buck...Yes...They did already hit my credit card for the funds...Now let's see how many orders we can get in there guys...:p:thumbup:
