For those of you who have gotten several custom shop blades. Do knives like the moab, wtf, an other blades come with a standard v edge or convex?? I bought a Ash1 built by the custom shop an it has a BEAUTIFUL convex edge.. is that on all or most custom shop blades?
 
I have some custom shop pieces that are convex, some v grind. It really depends on if it was ordered from the shop cause then the customer could have picked either edge. Hope that helps a little ?
 
Everything I've seen from the CS had a nice convex edge. Wish all Busse knives did..
 
For the most part, it seems my coated blades have arrived with V grinds (there are exceptions, Rodent Solution amongst them) and the satin blades arrived with convex edges.

Contacting the shop is the best bet for clarification on what to expect though.

ya I emailed that question to them but I assume they are just real busy cause I didn't hear back. I don't wanna be a pain.. I just would do about anything to have that same convex edge on the custom shop infi WTF I have on order..but with the custom shop on lockdown Im not sure if that's an option or not..
 
Convex here also, you might try calling Lexi-they receive so many e-mails it is hard for them to keep up-I have pretty much given up on e-mails, and now just call lexi-hope this helps and good luck
 
All the custom shop blades I have vary from v to convex, but it does seem a lot of the newer knives have convex edges.
 
Coated blades will not be convexed, v grind only. Some are full convex but that should be apparent from the picture of it
 
while I can't say this is true all the time, but every LE or custom shop satin I have ever gotten has come with Busses zero edge(convex edge).

Robs Moab should be v grind, I'm awaiting confirmation. The Moab and Moabolo originals where full flat ground (i think). I can't imagine what a full flat grind with convex secondary grind would look like.....

If I had known to ask I may had asked for V edge, but it came wicked sharp convex !!!! :-)
 
Yep, mines the same with black micarta. But what a pretty convex!! Garth does great work! Mine said sharpened by Garth.
 
I had a "professional" knife sharpener in my area put a convex on a swamp rat an Garths convex was out of this world better.. thanks to Garths work I was pretty disappointed with the second hand sharpener.
