Dave.... what is the multicam jacket you are wearing in that last pic ??? I may have to place an order with ESEE for some bits for my next sheath... !!!

Oh... and the only thing I laugh harder at than a bogged Nissan is a bogged Land Rover... ;) ;)

Andy thats just a regular army issue gortex jacket. I havn't managed to get the toyota stuck, now the ford f350 that thing sinks like a anchor you hit mud with that and thats where your gonna stay.

I am a fan of esee's backs and pouches, makes it really easy to buckle on a pack and have a little kit for emergency use.

Yes I do, holds an edge a lot better and its a better slicer and chopper. Actually of the knives in the pic I posted above the esee is by far the least ergonomic and holds the worst edge of them all. Thats not to say its not a good knife it just dosn't hold up to the edge holding of Busse or the CR green beret. The green beret is a surprisingly good camp knife on its own and one of the best balanced for me that I've ever used. The hell razor is another thats a great all around knife.

You are so full of knowledge and experience Dave, Thank you. Do you believe the GTLB can handle a lot of abuse / very hard use? because the grind

Well I may be full of something, I have used the Tglb a lot and it holds up just fine. I've beat on it pretty good and even more on my original tg neither have had any issues at all. Chopped, made fires, cut limbs for shelter, cleared brush and dug a hole once. Don't recommend the digging part that takes an edge off of any steel. I've carried it on backpacking trips and skinned game with it. Pretty versatile blade shape.

Thank Dave, I have one of the Multicam goretex jackets but in the bush I now almost constantly wear a Multicam SAS smock for 15 years prior it was a Royal Marine DPM Smock. I do need to get those ESEE backs... soooo much better than Teklocs (sp) .

This one "lumbers" a little when fully laden but will go more places than I am game to take it...... ;)

Hey Dave one last question. What kind of handles is that on your tglb ? G10? Paper? Which is better ? Oh and how do you sharpen your tglb ?

Nice Andy, one of these days I want to put an arb bumper on my fj.

Bigboy the scales on the original tg are black canvas, the ones on the tglb are black g10 I like both, the canvas feels a little grippier both work well though. The g10 is easier to clean. As for sharpening them I just free hand them on a dmt diamond stone, use the fine side and then a ceramic stick. Then a leather strop with mother maguires metal polish on it.
