I am thinking of buying a Camillus Talon however, I don't like to appearance of the handles. Is there anyone out there that makes replacement scales for the Talon?

Depending upon how easy it is to remove the stock handles, I bet we have a lot of good makers here at BFC who could do this work for you. Jake Evans and Frank Recupero are two gents who specialize in this sort of thing.

You may also want to give Will Fennell at Camillus a call. I saw him at Blade West with a small selection of custom handled Talons that I believe are exactly like what you want. He may be able to make one for you, or at least point you in the direction of a reputable person who has this capability. Good luck.

I don't know if it's possible or not but, if you really don't want the stock handle, I bet you could buy the knife without the handle from Camillus or through a Camillus dealer.

(yes, I have a dealer account with them

While we're on this subject, just how hard would it be to do it yourself? Since the g10 is just bolted on, wouldn't it be possible to work up some scales out of stag, wood, or other material that you could buy from either a knife supply company, or a knife show?

Now maybe this is a really stupid question, showing how limited my knowledge is, but.... I'm thinking about picking up some scales at the Timonium show (assuming there are some there) and working some up for my Talon. Is there something I'm missing? I'm thinking coping saw to rough cut them to shape, coarse/med/fine/extra fine sandpaper to hand shape, drill. The hardest part I would think would be to get the edges flush to the tang, and countersinking the bolt holes. Would the necessarily need to be epoxied to the tang? (it that's the case, then I'm not trying, because I already did that with my Nimravus, and got epoxy EVERYWHERE!
