As many of you might know i started a thread awhile ago about me making tang stamps . I have made me one and it turned out very nice. but the problem was that cutting the lettering with the edm etcher took way to long So i'm going to try another way. I am going to try and mill out the lettering with the HASS mill at work and then heat treat It . The nice thing about milling it out is that i can make the letters taller for people that want leather stamps. so what im thinking about is doing a giveaway of sorts :D. First the rules .

Must be a knife maker.
Must make knives on a regular basis.
Must be a member of bladeforums.
Must be someone that will use it.
Must be someone that an active bladeforums member.
Must have a Logo or name you currently use.

now you might wonder what i mean by make knives on a regular basis. What i mean is that someone that makes knives and sells them, Or tryes :o. This is not for someone that is just starting out:(, but for people that have some experience under there belt. I want the person that gets it to use it often so i can get feedback on its performance. And last but not least you need to be an active bladeforums member :). what i mean by that is that your involved in this family and not just here when you have a question then disappear for a year then back with another question. You must already have a logo of sorts, meaning that you already have a mark you place on you knives. I think you get my drift ;), i want it to go to some one that absolutely loves knife making like i do.

Your first post will be considered you entrance number, you can chat as much as you want but only your first one counts. I will then look at everyone that has entered and go through them and see if any of them don't qualify by the above standards . i then will take all the numbers and randomly select one and they get the stamp. I will then ask for your Logo or mark and i will take it from there. I'm not promising it right away but when ever i can get it done :foot:. Thanks and i hope you find this fun

How exactly do you want us to submit our mark or logo to you? would it be a pic of a knife with it, or a little jpeg of the mark, or do we need to send a stamped or etched peice of metal to you? Is there a way that makes it any easier or harder for you, or does it not really matter?

That's cool JT, count me in. I've actually got my logo in a vector format for scaling already (and it's pretty simple) and i've been thinking about having a stamp made, because I cant electro etch the blacksmith knives or other smithed goods that I make a lot of at demos and the like, but i could certainly hot stamp items.

cool idea jt, hop'en the new methods works well for ya. even if i dont win let it be known to all, i love making knives and it's become a passion, rather obsession that seems to never be fulfilled for myself.

in other words im a full blown addict, that in all honesty probably needs help with my addiction(help like a brandy new tang stamp ;)

your truly
