Hello everyone! I noticed there isn't a thread for custom technos, or spyderco in general, so I figured I would start one! I am looking for ideas for my new techno, so please put your pictures here!

Hmm, other than repro filing the blade or polishing it or maybe some file work I don't know what's possible with the technology since it's all titanium? I know Cuscadi sells different coloured back spacers.

I can post a picture once my Cuscadi backspacer shows up. Other than that there are some that have "Nuked" theirs, or anodized. Other than you could do custom scales as well.

I had a Techno when they first came out, I though an orange scale would be the call
Wasn't sure about the style so i tried an Anso and a polished G-10

Eventually sold the knife because i wasn't a fan of the wire clip...

Love the Ansø. Too bad I didn't see it when it was for sale

I have an Orange, but can't really see the point of the GID back spacer.

your orange glows? And just because it looks cool. Why not? not sure if the stock blue backspacer will grow on me, but the green gitd ones look great in photos.

The orange doesn't glow. GITD looses its glow pretty quickly under normal conditions. I tried G11 (uncolored G10 with a higher glass content) and tritium, but even though it will glow greenish for the 20+ years it wasn't really that cool..

I might make another one in G11 that is "geared" like the original and install a tritium vial (the one I made was smooth and flush with the scales), but I'm kind of fond of the orange one by Cuscadi that I have now..

ya Cuscadi has some good stuff. Just to be clear, does it void the Spyderco warranty to replace the backspacer?

Maybe just the thought of GITD sounds cooler than it actually is. I think it looks amazing while it is glowing, but in the light.. not so much. Here are some pics that I requested from Cuscadi.

I concur. GITD has a certain "wow" factor - but I much prefer a bright flash of color or something with a bit of style and panache.

I have both blue and green GITD backspacers en route, as well as orange, so I'll post up some pics as soon as they arrive.

Haven't seen them yet; have they arrived?

Just ordered a Techno today and it's arriving tomorrow.

Just ordered a flush carbon spacer from Cuscadi, too.

Anyone darken the techno frame with OxiClean? All I've found are anodized examples--blue, yellow, and bronze.

Yup, they're here:

At my son's behest, I installed the blue GITD backspacer first:

It's not as bright as moonglow, but it still glows for quite some time (once your eyes are adapted to the dark -- and you're REALLY in the dark -- yes, you can see it for several hours after the initial charge). I'll try the green GITD backspacer this weekend, and report back then.

Regards,
Adam
