Is Mike still making knives?
I am not certain but I don't think so. He is usually at a knife show that I attend but he hasn't been there in the last 4 or 5 years. The last time he was there, he had some daggers that he made and a couple of his slip joints that I saw on his table two years in a row.

It is very similar to the trapper he designed for Old School Knifeworks and made by Moki. Do you use it?

I sometimes forget you own a Pekka. Cheeky bugger!

You should consider sanding that birch bark and strip it back to fresh blonde :)

Lol...there'd be no point, the entire package would look weird and incongruous. The birch bark might appear newer, but the sheath would still have its scratches and scuffs. Plus, both the blade and the bolster are dinged from the time I dropped it. Nothing like dropping a literal razor sharp knife to test your reflexes.

😬

It's a special little dance yeah.

I'd argue one point of going freshly blonde would be a better grip :) I don't recall seeing a lot of those rounded pommels coming from Pekka, it's a beauty. You've got some old classics for sure, we have similar taste. That photo with the laconico and the pekka is pretty iconic at this point lol.
