Very interesting example and your background to it. I like the quality of execution here, highly attractive pebbled Stag with spacers and well judged proportions: blade/handle and bolster size. File-work enhances it too, this is a quality piece and one that must be a pleasure to use. Sadly, many Custom knives can come across as almost 'anxious'- by this I mean too precise, too sterile, possibly never to be used.... this knife is certainly not like this at all. Basically, it succeeds. :cool: Nice tribute to the mountaineer as well.

I wanted a knife similar to the one found of George Mallory's body
George Mallory's knife was an "Oates Real Lambfoot"!!! I studied it, among others, before I asked Great Eastern Cutlery to produce a Lambfoot knife for me!!
I also used a "Joseph Rodgers" as a model/influence!!
