Not to be confused with the other thread "Pics of customized production knives"

This is about custom versions of production knives.Where some of the popular production knives got their start.

The Benchmade production Sibert is based off the Mini Pocket Rocket, NOT the full sized Pocket Rocket.

And here is the picture of MY custom MPR.

PS:
That is a HUGE difference in size between the MPR and the PR; the MPR has something like a 2.6 inch blade, and the Pocket Rocket has a 4 inch blade.

Here's a new LeafstormV custom I just finished for a (really patient) customer. Blade is Damasteel, grip overlays are Mammouth ivory laminated to a 0.5mm G10 base for stability.

Did Ken Onion ever make any custom (hand made) Leeks or Chives?

I'm sure there were prototypes, but were there any full blown customs on these?

Kevin,That looks awesome!

question-That damascus looks very similar to a what Boker uses in a few of their higher end knives.Do you get it from the same supplier,or do you make it yourself?I'm just asking, because I see you're both in Germany.

Thanks

The steel if powder metal Damascus made by Damasteel in Sweden. It's widely used and is a very high quality, being composed of RWL34 and 12C27 stainless steels. More info can be found on Damasteel's website. I dont know if Böker uses it or not, they may very well.
