If you have already ordered, thats ok. I'll send you 2 more. Soon, I would like to start a monthly drawing for a set of custom knife blanks of your design. Give me your input on something like this. Once again, thank you to everyone.:D

I think its a wonderful idea! Im on my way to the mail box. I even included a stamped envelope. Thanks for the freebie!

I think that is a great idea. Do you have any more information on the Sheffield bowie shields, I would be very interested in some of those.

I am working on the designs for the bowies. I should have at least 5 done tonight.

Any luck with the matching parser plates? I think they are key to your shield success.

John, I'm working on them now. I made some plates yesterday and also a Parser tool that I designed. I didn't heat treat the parts. They need to be. It was just a test. The Parser tool fits in my drill press. The plates clamp to the scales. I cranked up the press to 150 rpm and hogged out the scales. It worked! It was just a test and needs to be refined a lot. I've never made a knife and was able to inlay a shield. Amazing! I will be posting pics and maybe some video of this thing working in the "shields" post soon. I need to get caught up on other work before I can play again.;)

If the parser plate is either 1/16 or 1/32" inch bigger in every direction then a 1/16 or 1/32" mill may be used dropping the bit into the scale and riding the parser with the smooth shank above the milling portion. This works well if there are no sharp inside corners. For sharp inside corners you must hand detail them.n A real parser tool woul dbe even cooler!!
